General George Hammond
General George Hammond is a recurring character from the Stargate SG-1 universe.
General George Hammond was the commander of Stargate Command. A hardened military leader and a wise man willing to do whatever is necessary to defend the interests of his country, his world, and all of humanity, he was promoted to a Pentagon position as chief of defense for Earth, a post referred to colloquially as "Head of Homeworld Security." He was later succeeded in that post by his former subordinate, Gen. Jack O'Neill.
