Show Description

Stargate Atlantis began as a spin off of the popular scifi television show Stargate SG-1. At the beginning of season five, Richard Woolsey took command of the Atlantis Expedition, replacing Samantha Carter (who replaced the missing Elizabeth Weir, now presumed dead).

Since the beginning of the series, several characters have died or gone missing, including Aiden Ford and Elizabeth Weir.

Atlanis follows the fight against the Wraith, a species that feeds on the life-force of humans. Upon arrival in the Pegasus Galaxy, the Atlantis Expedition accidentally awoke the "sleeping" Wraith who immediately began to cull the human worlds and feed off their captives.

Since learning of the thriving human populations in the Milky Way Galaxy, the discovery of Earth's whereabouts has become the overriding goal of the Wraith.

Atlantis must keep the location of Earth and its galaxy a secret from the Wraith at all costs.
