Battlestar Galactica - Science fiction or fantasy series

It took only fifteen minutes to know this show would fascinate me. The Battlestar Galactica Miniseries is still one of my favorites of all time.

Battlestar Galactica: The Miniseries - Science fiction or fantasy movie

A show as striking as the differences between this reimagining and the original Battlestar Galactica series on which it's based.

Battlestar Galactica: The Plan - Science fiction or fantasy movie
Chuck - Science fiction or fantasy series

Chuck burst onto the scene, with its catchy theme music and fun characters. Although there are no space battles or aliens, there's still a touch of the fantastical with Chuck's ability to retain and access all the secrets of the government's Intersect computer within his brain after having those secrets downloaded into his brain from an email. Definitely more than watchable, Chuck is top-notch.

Dollhouse - Science fiction or fantasy series

There were a few paltry episodes at the beginning of the series, but the show quickly improved and Dollhouse now features a spot on my weekly TV lineup. :) I have especially enjoyed season 2.

Eureka - Science fiction or fantasy series

This show has appeal for mainstream viewers as well as science fiction fans and it's a scififantasies.com favorite.

Farscape - Science fiction or fantasy series
Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars - Science fiction or fantasy movie
Firefly - Science fiction or fantasy series
Fringe - Science fiction or fantasy series
Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire - Science fiction or fantasy series

An unexpected hit with me, this show is one of my new favorites.

Life After People - Science documentary

An interesting look at the hypothetical, Life After People left only one real question in my mind. If our presence is so easily erased, how can we be so certain that there was never another great technologically advanced civilization at home on this planet or any other planet of our solar system?

Mega Disasters - Science documentary series

Crossing the divide between a science documentary and a disaster movie, Mega Disasters merges history and science with the hypothetical, giving us the ultimate answer to "What if?".

Sanctuary - Science fiction or fantasy series

Particularly of interest to fans of Amanda Tapping's Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis work, Sanctuary's creator is Damian Kindler who has written many Stargate episodes. Martin Wood will be a producer and director. These guys both did great work in the Stargate universe.

Serenity - Science fiction or fantasy movie

Serenity is a movie with an emotional impact, flashes of wry humor, and plenty of wit and action to keep me in my seat.

Stargate Atlantis - Science fiction or fantasy series

Although not as strong initially as Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis has gained depth as it has progressed. This show is just getting started.

Stargate SG-1 - Science fiction or fantasy series

Scifi Fantasies believes Stargate SG-1 to be one of the best science fiction series ever created for television.

Stargate Universe - Science fiction or fantasy series

It's certainly a departure from the previous Stargate series, but as a stand-alone science fiction tv series, Stargate Universe brings a lot to the screen.

Stargate: Continuum - Science fiction or fantasy movie

A return to the classic stories of Stargate, Continuum marks the true beginning of the straight to DVD, movie-length "episodes" of Stargate. I certainly hope the franchise continues on!

Stargate: The Ark of Truth - Science fiction or fantasy movie

The much anticipated culmination of the Ori storyline from Stargate SG-1.

Worth the wait. If you're a fan of Stargate SG-1, you really shouldn't miss this. — Lynn

The Universe - Science documentary series

The Universe particularly appeals to my nine year old son. His fascination with science and space make this the perfect educational programming. For myself, however, I like the show because it gives me insight into the many mysteries of life and the planets. My interest is in the formation of the planets, the workings of alien galaxies, and the unexplained phenomena of the vast universe.

My personal favorites of all the 1st and 2nd season episodes include: Alien Planets, Alien Moons, Life and Death of a Star, and Secrets of the Sun.

The Universe has revealed many aspects of the Earth's solar system, our own and alien galaxies, and more, using spectacular visuals and interesting commentary by scientists.

UFO Hunters (History Channel) - Science documentary series

UFO Hunters intrigues with each new episode. My only complaint to date is the sometimes repetitive nature and reuse of the same information about several historical sightings from one episode to the next.

Although it isn't fair to compare the two shows, it's impossible to overlook Scifi Channel's UFO Hunters since it shares the same name. Where the Scifi Channel series is more about entertainment, these UFO Hunters take a very scientific approach, leaving many of the high-tech gadgets behind in favor of tried and true methods of investigation.

UFO Hunters (Scifi Channel) - Science fiction or fantasy series
V - Science fiction or fantasy series
Warehouse 13 - Science fiction or fantasy series

Syfy calls Warehouse 13 a dramedy. After watching a few episodes, I find the mix of humor and seriousness to be an excellent combination. In the way that tone works for Eureka, this same tone works for Warehouse 13. I love it.
